In February 2026, I had a coolant problem with my trade van. I called the RAC to look  at it and, as Kerr Tech Automotive ltd in Rutherglen was an 
RAC approved garage, I decided to book the van in there. BEWARE OF THE GUINEAS TAMP APPROVALS!

I asked them to flush the cooling system:  just remove coolant and then refill it.  Something that is done for about £60,00.

They held the van for three long days and, when they were done, they said they found two loose hozes and secured them with jubilee clips!!!

As far as I know today quality garages use spring-band-clamps to secure aircon tubes etc, especially on the Vauxhall Vivaro.

When I collected the van I was charged £300,00 for the flush!!!!   Everyone is shocked by this one!!!  Nobody ever heard of such a fee for a coolant flush.

I drove from the garage and in about 4 miles from the garage my engine started to smoke like it never did before. The engine overheated and I had to stop.  I called them and they actually invited me back to the garage.  I thanked them and, driving very slowly, I got the vehicle to my house.  No doubt, they did not just flush the engine, if they even did do that.

I will put a film online that will show the steam from the engine on that date and approximate time.

After my complaint was rejected by an email from the garage and I did not receive a response from their registered address:
Limetree Garage, Glasgow Road, Hamilton, ML3 0RA, I filed a lawsuit against Kerr-Tech Automotive Ltd, trading at Rutherglen.

The court date has been and the judge informed that, accotding to the consumer rights act 2015, the court was poweless, beacue I actually paid the £300,00.  If I had not paid the £300,00 and disputed the fee, then the court could proceed on the matter.  
I now know this, and the next crooked garage that I encounter will simply not be paid.
